Uncontrollable desire
When facing up in the
sky, boundless feeling really enliven us. These senses create desires and we
are motivated to chase such cravings.
In human beings, desires
constantly arise. When one desire is fulfilled, they begin to chase other
desires. An acute crisis of desire links to monotony, and a chronic catastrophe
to depression. Human desire moves them, and gives their life direction and
meaning. Desire is closely associated with pleasure and pain. Human beings feel
pleasure at the things that, in the course of their progress, have tended to
promote their survival and reproduction. They feel pain at the things that have
tended to compromise their genes. The pleasurable things, such as sugar, sex,
and social status, are strengthened to be desirable, however the aching things
are wired to be disagreeable.
Desire motivates
people in numerous ways. Major
categories of desire are physical desire such as hunger or thirst, intellectual
desire, sexual desire, and economic desire like consumer demand. According to
great Indian mystic poet Kabir, desire institutes the true wealth of humanity.
He stated that huge number of people have countless desires. Mostly these
desires concern the superficial aspects of life, such as personal appearance or
personal properties. It is a consensus among several intellectuals that people having
many desires are the poorest people in world because people cannot fulfil all
desires in life. Then they are stressful and sad. Another group of people who
have limited desires can lead successful life. In Buddhism, the second noble
truth, people carry along desires and passions. Since they cannot satisfy all
desires, they get troubled and angry, which is the manifestation of suffering.
Human also have unnatural
desires, which are limitless and rooted in society. Fame, power, and wealth are
desire for social status. Society also gives rise to disparaging desires such
as some people develop to make others envy, or the desire to see others fail,
or, not succeed in their mission.
If a person has
strong desire to chase life goal, sometimes it may be fulfilled because he/she
fully focuses on attaining it. People must have control over constant emerging
desire through limiting their attention on few cravings and learn to fulfil
them to get real satisfaction.
To end the dialogue,
desires are never ending process. These desires constantly emerge in humans.
People who have limitless desires live depressed life as they cannot chase all
in their life cycle. It is always better to focus on few desires and make
efforts to fulfil it.
