Normally preschool children suffer from school phobia due
to separation anxiety. They fear that they will be far from their mother after
going to school. Sometimes, negative or traumatic event such as divorce of
parents, death may lead to the fear of school.

suffering from phobia cry, scream, or have an anxiety attack at the thought of
having to go to school. They pretend to be sick in order to evade school.

Didaskaleinophobia,
children show symptoms of dizziness, heart palpitations, dry mouth, excessive
sweating, breathlessness, nausea, and full blown panic attack.
Didaskaleinophobia is a treatable ailment. Some
medications can be prescribed by psychiatrists but these may have side effects.
Parents need to make efforts to lessen this phobia. They seek help of doctor
for thorough physical examination of the child to determine if he or she has a
legitimate illness. Parents must listen to the child talk about school to
identify any clues as to why he or she is reluctant to go school. Parents can talk
to the child's teacher, school psychologist, and/or school counsellor for their
child’s fear and jointly determine a possible cause or causes for school
escaping. Parents must develop good plan of action to adapt the school and home
environments to aid the child to cope up in school.
In recapping the strands, kids are gripped under school
phobia because of insecure environment, bullying or changing to school.
Children diagnosed with Didaskaleinophobia have difficulty in tolerating separation
from reassuring presence of parents. This fear may be of anything from a scary
school bus ride, bully, a particular teacher or class or feeling of anxiety
that in school day may trigger. Basically, phobia is developed through a
combination of external events such as traumatic happenings and internal
predispositions.
