Yoga for pregnant women


Yoga practices are always helpful for individuals to maintain healthy mental and physical state. Yoga during pregnancy also has huge benefits.

Yoga aids pregnant women to gain strength and increase stamina. Regular yoga practices can lessen stress and anxiety and women feel comfortable for normal delivery. During pregnancy, women experience lots of pain in neck, shoulders and back pains. Yoga is the best way to manage such discomfort. It strengthens muscles, lead to good blood circulation, and women feel more energetic. Yoga also helps in dealing with medical issues during pregnancy such as sciatic pains, back pains, edema (Swellings), mood swings, and depressions.



Good yoga postures for pregnant women:

Hatha Yoga improves physical strength and posture during pregnancy and promotes stable breathing, improved awareness and women feel relaxed.

Iyengar Yoga focuses on the poses above breathing and meditation. Iyengar yoga is very accessible as it uses a variety of props such as wooden blocks, benches, and straps for support in pregnancy.

Ananda yoga is for both physical and spiritual enhancement. It combines fitness and meditation. Ananda yoga is a protracted and calm yoga which allows women to meditate using different areas of the body. They feel relaxed after doing this yoga.

Viniyoga pools attentive breathing and physically demanding postures for both fitness and meditation which keeps pregnant women to calm and relaxed.

Bhakti yoga is associated with chanting and meditation with exercise to increase concentration. This yoga is an excellent exercise to release for stress.

Embryonic health studies have demonstrated that prenatal yoga reduces several pregnancy complications, pain and stress levels. Prenatal yoga helps to maintain mind and body as during pregnancy, women body undergo through drastic changes and it triggers many mental ailments like tension and nervousness.

There is warning for women who are health conscious and involved in yoga practices during pregnancy. They should not practices some yoga postures as it may cause injury. These yoga postures include Kundalini Yoga, Power Yoga, Ariel yoga, Bikram Yoga, Dharma Yoga.
It is well observed that yoga during pregnancy provides a good preparation for the breath and set mind for delivery and beyond. It eases morning sickness. Yoga exercises helps women for preparation of labour through deep breathing and coolness.  Woman has to decide which yoga posture is relaxing and calming.
