Typical irrational fear of man: Gynophobia


Gynophobia is basically irrational fear of woman in men. It is termed as emasculation as men experience fear due to being humiliated by women. Emasculation refers to deprive a man of his manhood or male individuality. Men grip under gynophobia may develop disgust against their own mother, sisters or other female family members. The gynophobia restricts them to involve into any type of relationship with women.


Persons exhibit range of symptoms when they suffer from gynophobia:
-      An instant, overwhelming fear or worry or terror when they think about women
-      Their fear of women is unjustified or overstated but the fear is uncontrollable.
-      They may experience anxiety as a women get physically closer to them.
-      They are unable to do daily activities because of fearful feeling of women.
-      They may feel stomach disturbance, dizziness, or faintness when they are near to women.

Major causes of developing gynophobia in men are past bitter experiences with women, like mental or physical abuse, neglect, rape, physical assault, or sexual harassment. Other ground of such irrational fear is their genetics. This phobia can also be triggered by negative experiences with a woman during childhood.

If men do not able to manage daily life, they must seek doctor. Hypnotherapy is said to be effective with this phobia because it tackles the primary trigger of the phobia within the subliminal mind. Talk therapy is also applied to lessen the gynophobia or fear of women in men. This therapy simply denotes to a series of counselling sessions with the experts who can bring patient’s mind to come out of the virtual world into a realistic world. Cognitive behaviour therapy is offered for people suffering from gynophobia. The therapist tries to comprehend the cause of phobia and works on eliminating it from patient’s mind.

In final words, gynophobia is elaborated as appalling or hatred feeling in men about females.
