Sporting activity is passion for people and they get involve in different sports activities to rejoice the moments of life. Sports are booster of physical as well as mental health. Snowshoeing is basically walking. Sports persons who are doing this kind of sport must carry following things:

v Hat
v Thick, water-resistant gloves or mittens
v Heavy, wool insulating socks (avoid cotton socks)
v Layered clothing
v Thermal innerwear or long johns
v Sunglasses or ski goggles to protect eyes from bright snow glare
v Water bottle, high-energy food (such as fruits and nuts), sunscreen (SPF of at least 15), and lip balm.
v Daypack to carry personal belongings

It is also recommended to include following things on the safer side:

o   Windproof, waterproof jacket or parka
o   Waterproof boots
o   Snowshoes that fit properly
o   For balance, one or two snowshoe poles or ski poles that are of proper size

Snowboarding: Snowboarding is thrilling winter sport that involves sliding down the snow covered slopes while standing on a board. The riders attach a board to their feet, which is used to glide down the slopes. Sports person must learn to balance and how to jump over the slopes.


There are numerous health benefits for doing snowboarding. It enhances cardiovascular fitness. This sport increases strength, flexibility and balance. It also improves concentration power to do minute works.


Skiing: Skiing is popular and electrifying exploration sports that involve skiing down the crumbly slopes of the huge Himalayas or the snow bound areas. While skiing, the partakers attach skis to boots or shoes and use them to slide over the snow. The sporting activity is used for both amusing and competitive sports. Famous skiing points in India are Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Solang Valley, Manali, Auli.


Ski Jump: Ski jumping is a type of winter Olympic Sport that is associated with distance. Sky jump is about how far participants fly through the air. Ski jumping is regarded as traditional and ancient sports. In this sporting activity, athletes use power and technique to jump and fly, the most important assets to a ski jumper are mental strength and nerves of steel.

It is well experienced that snow sports are entertaining but preparation and good training is necessary to go for this adventurous voyage. These sports require watchfulness and the skill of balancing, which are simple techniques but needs to be mastered in order to enjoy the sports.
