Mountain Biking: Exciting Sporting Activity for Youngsters

Mountain biking is a leisure sporting activity on any off-road surface. It is a category of outdoor adventure and participants really enjoy this recreational sport. Mountain biking needs good fitness, bravery, and very good bike control at terrifying speed.

Mountain biking includes numerous kinds of activities aimed at different types of riders such as downhill, four cross, cross-country and trail quest. Cross-country biking is the most common, and involves rides on mountain tracks of all shapes and sizes.  For cross country biking, the riders need to excel in brilliant bike handling skills to maneuver over trees, branches, rocks and streams. They must also be extremely fit as the event is incredibly draining and requires real endurance.



Downhill riders are in quest of thrills in fast descents. Many downhill riders use vehicles to reach the peak of the mountain before racing back to the bottom by bike. Downhill is the decisive test of nerve and bike control. It is about who is the fastest from top to bottom.

Though there are no set rules for mountain biking, riders must respect the trails or jumps. For safety bikers must use helmets, knee pads and neck braces.

Partakers in mountain biking use compasses and GPS systems to navigate the backcountry as they ride. In simple statement, mountain biking is a risky and stimulating sport.

Mountain biking is a highly beneficial recreational sport that keeps bikers alert, active and mentally healthy. Mountain bikers maintain their physical health by retaining normal weight, improving their skin and boosting their immune system to prevent several epidemic and contagious diseases. Mountain biking also helps in lessening numerous mental illnesses such as decreasing stress, anxiety and alleviating any sleep disturbance.  Mountain biking also widens the social circle which is necessary for any person to keep happy in life.  

Apart from the attractive nature of mountain biking, it also poses a high risk to bikers who are not well trained or accidently met with some disastrous situations. There are chances of serious injuries, broken bones due to high speed or environmental hazards such as rocks, roots, and steep inclines while riding. Sometimes bikers face the serious challenge of equipment failure during exercise. In spite of being trained or highly skilled in sport activity, bikers may get serious injury if the bike malfunctions. In mountain biking sports, body temperature may rise especially in hot summer which can lead to several health issues like dehydration or heart suffocation. Mountain bikers must follow sports norms when they decide to jump into risky sports. They must wear proper accessories that include GPS, mobile phones, water bottle, nutritious snacks and map, wear appropriate dress and keep first aid kit.



In essence, mountain biking allures youngsters to enjoy precious moments of life, fun with sports teams or competitors, seek adventure in nature and live a full life.
