For example, brain plasticity improves the efficiency of neural networks responsible for important cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and mood. Whereas negative brain plasticity leads to changes to the neural connections in the brain, which can be damaging to us. For instance, people who develop negative thoughts can promote neural changes and connections related with conditions such as depression, and anxiety.
