Acquiring strength for CAT examination
The Common Admission Test abbreviated as CAT is conducted
in India to select best students for business administration programs by The
Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). It is a computer based test.
It comprises of following tests:
-Quantitative Ability (QA)
-Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC)
-Data Interpretation (DI)
-Logical Reasoning (LR).
The success or failure of an MBA aspirant depends on
candidate’s recognition of his/her strengths and weaknesses. CAT is not very
tough. Therefore aspirants must not worry about test questions and concentrate
on thorough preparation.
If aspirants plan and organize study material and
review their performance in practice test, it will help them to gain strength
and prowess to clear this test.
There are the tricks to crack CAT.
Exaggerating on a section: Aspirants usually spend
lot of time to study topics that suits to them and neglect others. Some aspirants
spend more time in their preparation time on Quantitative Aptitude, less time to
prepare Verbal Ability and other areas like Logical Reasoning, Data
Interpretation, and Reading Comprehension. It is for information that LR / DI /
RC accounts 50% of the CAT paper. Therefore it is advised to equally divide
time for all sections.
Evaluate the Mock Tests: it is suggested that
aspirants must sincerely review their mock performance. It will to recognize
their weakness and provide motivation if cracking complicates questions.
While preparing for exam, it is important to take
care of health. Eat healthy diet and have proper sleep. It will energize
aspirants to use their brain in effective way.
