Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common liver cancer. It accounts for 90% of all liver cancers. Hepatocellular carcinoma begins in hepatocytes, the main cells of the liver.

Major symptoms of liver cancer:

Liver cancer symptoms can be ambiguous and these are silent until the cancer is in progressive stage. Symptoms include:

1.   Unexplained weight loss

Causes of liver cancer:

Medical researchers still not found exact causes for developing liver cancer but they explained that it may due to liver damage.

Liver damage occurs if person has cirrhosis, alcohol abuse, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and hepatitis.

Risk factors:

Chronic infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are key Risk factor for liver cancer. These viruses can spread from person to person through sharing contaminated needles and through unprotected sex.

Diagnosis of liver cancer: Physicians or gastroenterologist recommend surveillance ultrasound of patients in every 6 months in a patient who have cirrhosis. This is the best way to diagnose liver cancer.

When doctor suspect that cancer cells are developing, he recommend further tests that are mentioned below:

-      Blood tests: Patients with liver cancer have high level of alfa-fetoprotein (AFP). A rising level of AFP is doubtful for liver cancer. Other labs tests include des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin, which can be elevated in most patients with liver cancer.

-      Imaging studies: Multiphasic helical CT scan and MRI with contrast of the liver are the chosen imaging to detect the location and extent of blood supply to the cancer. If any imaging study is unconvincing, then an alternative imaging study or follow-up imaging study should be performed for confirmation of liver cancer. 

-      Gastroenterologists also perform liver biopsy to detect liver cancer. Liver biopsy is not required in every case.

Treatment options:

The treatment for liver cancer depends on the spread of the cancer and the overall health of the liver. Sometimes, liver cancer can be treated with surgery to remove the part of liver with cancer.

Another treatment option is liver transplantation. The surgeon replaces the cancerous liver with a healthy liver from another person.

Ablation therapy: In this procedure, doctors induce therapy to kill cancer cells in the liver without any surgery. The doctor can kill cancer cells using heat, laser, or by injecting a special alcohol or acid directly into the cancer. This procedure may be used in palliative care.

Embolization technique is also performed to treat liver cancer. It is the blocking of the blood supply to the cancer. This technique uses a catheter to inject particles or beads that can block blood vessels that feed the cancer. Starving the cancer of the blood supply averts the progression of the cancer. Complications of embolization include fever, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Radiation therapy is also applied for liver cancer patients. Radiation uses high-energy rays directed to the cancer to kill cancer cells. Complications of radiation therapy are skin irritation near the treatment site, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting.

Chemotherapy is most common treatment procedure for liver cancer. Chemotherapy uses a medicine that kills cancer cells. The medicine can be given by mouth or by injecting it into a vein or artery feeding the liver. People show many side effects from chemotherapy, depending on the medications used and the patient's individual response. Complications of chemotherapy include fatigue, easy bruising, hair loss, nausea and vomiting, swollen legs, diarrhoea, and mouth sores. But these side effects are generally temporary and disappear as person develops healthy liver cells.

Liver transplant is also performed for patients whose liver is severely damaged due to cirrhosis.

Nutrition for liver cancer patient:

Liver cancer patients must take good diet. Some tips are mentioned below:

-      Consume enough calories to correct or prevent weight loss and improve nutrition.

-      They must limit consumption of the sodium in their diet to 2,000 mg (one teaspoon) per day.

-      It is highly recommended to take meals at shot intervals.

.

-      They must plan diet that includes calories and protein which helps in liver cells regeneration and improves liver function.

It is not restricted to dining out but they must avoid some ill dietary practices such as:

-      Avoid fast food of restaurants.

-      Spicy food must not be taken instead order broiled meat or fish.

-      They can order sauces on the side and use very small amounts.

-      Avoid bacon, cheese and croutons in salad.

Liver patients must Increase the fibre in their diet such as fresh or raw fruits and vegetables, whole grains, prunes, nuts and dates to avoid constipation.

Tear explosion: Heart throbbing love story

Life can take turn at any stage. Person is astonished when strange event happens in life. It is said that love is blind. Person losses his intellect when he falls in love with someone. Today, people attract to each other by professional excellence and behavior attribute. Physical appearance is one of the factors. Especially in college life, girl or boy comes closer when they help each other and they have similar needs and wants.  True love is unusual. A touching story will communicate how a boy turned to be a true lover.

The story starts with the year 1980s

In the final year of engineering college, students engaged in fun activities as they have to depart from their batch mates and plan for future life. They gossip together at tea stall and discuss further studies, where to apply for job. A group of students (Boys and girls) daily met to discuss these issues. One day they were gossiping at tea stall, two girls of other college passed nearby road. On their way, a folder of one girl suddenly fallen down on the road. They were unaware of this fact. Both boys and girls were making fun. They picked up folder and knew the details of that girl but they didn’t call her at that time just for fun. They also observed girl whose folder fell down, had a serious outlook. So boys thought, they will return next day. At time, one boy of group shouted, hi, there is a chance to go abroad. A requirement of electronic engineer is advertised in electronic company in USA. Sandeep Pandey was in final year. He was best suited for this job. But the last date for applying was on that day when they saw advertisement and fee of form was Rs 100/-which can be collected from local office of that company in city. Sandeep did not want to miss this opportunity. They were in trouble to think that how to arrange money as time was running out and all the boys did not have money to purchase form at that time because they already had spent money on refreshment. Sandeep was restless and just turned the pages of folder of that girl. Luckily, a note of hundred rupees dropped from the folder. All boys jumped with joy and thanked God for solving their problem. All were rushed to company office by their bike and collected form.

After twenty years

In Bangalore city, middle aged couple just shifted. They were moved out for shopping and finding place to park their car. Suddenly, a woman approached to female of couple, Rashi and asked- Hi, I am Supriya, an engineer from Roorkee college. Do you belong to Roorkee University? Rashi said, yes, I had completed my post graduation in political science from that university. Supriya then told that she knows her very well and she recognized her from her eyes as there were many changes in face of Rashi after a long period of time. Supriya complemented her that your beauty lies in your eyes. Rashi did not understand what is happening with her. She asked how you could know me. Supriya laughed and said you are the angel for some one. Rashi surprised how do I did it. Then Supriya explained that one day when you were on the way to home near tea stall “Lalla”, your folder fell down and our group of engineering students picked up that folder. We got Rs 100/- which was highly valuable for Sandeep, an electronic engineer because he paid fee for form to apply in US. Now he has made millions of dollars from that Rs 100/-. We were tried our best at that time to return you the sum but could not trace you. I am very happy to see you at this time. Please tell me how are you? About your family? She responded we are as usual but due to recession, my husband’s company is in intense financial crunch and management is trying to shut this company. Supriya expressed sorry for that. Rashi’s husband also participated in talk. After long discussion, Supryia observed that Rashi has some medical problem. She can not breathe properly.

Supryia was quite worried about her and invited her to US for treatment. In the end of discussion, she disclosed one secret that was really surprising for Rashi. Supriya told to Rashi that Sandeep who used your Rs 100/-was attracted towards you and had a deep love feeling for you. You were his inspiration, which built his career and he touched the height of success. In Every business project, he got huge profit. In all success movement, he remembered you. Supriya then told that she loved Sandeep. He was very friendly with her but never had any feelings for her. Sandeep’s mother liked me (Supryia) very much but Sandeep never accepted this offer even in the last troubled days of his mother. His mother at that time spoke sadly that my son, you ignored my sentiments for a girl which you can not get it. He replied, Maa, I can not spoil life of a girl for which I do not have any feelings. It will be injustice for her. Perhaps mother sensed his son’s emotion and she died with the hope one day his son will get peaceful life. His grand mother is still alive and waiting for her grand daughter in law.

Supriya told, Sandeep’s love is deep and till date, he is unmarried. He is very loyal to you because he never had any illegal relationship with any girl as far as she knows. He visited many holy places in India every year to pray God for your wellbeing.  Rashi was speechless because her husband was standing and there were chances to develop some misunderstanding. Rashi immediately sat inside car. Supriya came to her and requested if you could convince Sandeep then he may think of marriage and his life will be settled but Rashi refused to talk to him as she didn’t want to spoil her family life.

Departing to Rashi, Supriya told that she is also settled in abroad and she came to India with her husband on official tour to review one company to expand business where she worked. All were dispersed.

Next day when Rashi’s husband went to office, he saw that a team of experts came from USA to review company’s asset and Supriya’s husband was heading the team. When both met, they discuss the details of company. Rashi’s husband had employment problem if there is a privatization of company but he did not want to use her wife for his career. He thought that he must observe the situation quietly and rest was left to God. After few days, Rashi’s husband was informed that he had to visit Delhi for official purpose. He left for Delhi where he was invited by grand mother of Sandeep. He had to accept that invitation due to official pressure.  Sandeep’s grand mother met affectionately to him and requested him that she wanted to meet Rashi for which her grandson was mad. She further stated that if Rashi fails to convince his grandson for marriage then I want to gift some traditional ornaments which her family’s traditional valuables were usually given to daughter in law. Because her grandson loves her so she wanted to handover same before her death. It was very difficult moment for Rashi’s husband. He loves his wife very much and he fears that he will loss her as he was not as powerful as they are. What steps he must take.

Tears are exploding both the side and Rashi is in between them.

Rashi’s husband discussed this matter with her. She was standstill and could not spoke even a word. In her last days of Sandeep’s grandmother, Rashi agreed to meet her but refused to take any traditional ornament. She expressed that she was not a member of their family therefore morally, she should not accept it. But when grandmother told her she wanted to gift her as she is nice women then she had to accept it on humanitarian ground.

After performing all rituals on death of grand mother, Sandeep handed over his business to trust for smooth functioning and management of financial matter. He deposited all funds with joint name with Rashi so that whenever she needs, she can withdraw it and he took sanyas. He lived in remote ashram of city and frequently visited to holy places. He was still searching divine forces to direct his path. As a true lover, he scarified whole life which exhibit rays of real love.

Rashi never thought of her life in this way. Her tears were accumulating as she followed parent’s advice and married to a person of their choice. She devoted her life to her husband no matter what ambitions she had during early years of life. In middle age, surprised incident took place in her life and now she can not think, and live life of her own. Ghostly nature of humans: Glimpse of true happening

Ghost is the idea of human brain that expounds some shadowy and horrendous activities after human death. There is a frenzied debate on the existence of ghost among paranormal researchers, professionals, intellectuals. A ghost is a scary human figure, perceived by some people, which cannot have physical presence. In our society, massive group of people believe in the existence of ghosts.

When ghosts are active, negative energy is charged and they have immense power to devastate colossal group in the planet. When any traumatic episode occur in the life of humans, they become dreadful and always fear that some horrible may happen with them in future. It can be conferred that negative energy is charged around them.

In ghostly surroundings, some intelligent haunting is also the cause of developing frightening feeling in humans. In such scenario, spirit or ghost entity tries to interact with the living humans. Their intention is to encircle protective thread from any harmful objects or incidents. Sometimes, these haunting activities relay important messages about some heinous happening in past or going to occur in future.

A true event that awakened and knocked about the dreadful happening in life of human:

In a trip to Lucknow in May’ 1990, writer met with an exceptional lady who had some invisible power. She had lot of experiences in her life to which modern science has no answer. One of the real incident faced by her is narrated here. One day she was walking on the streets of Hazarat Ganj, which is a good shopping area of Lucknow. Around 5 PM onwards, she felt severe headache and it continued till one hour. The pain was without any reason and subsided after one hour. She could not assessed why it had happened.

Next day she heard the shocking news about death of her sister who had gone to Bhimtal (Uttrakhand region in India) for celebrating some functions of her in-laws. And the time was same when she was affected by headache. It was looking natural that soul sometimes touches the blood relations after leaving its body. Some people explicated it as a telepathy.

She was very upset about her sister’s death. The cause of death was informed to her as an accident.  Her sister’s in-laws did not wait for other relatives to witness cremation.

Time had passed and they were shifted to Lucknow. She was searching for accommodation and fixed one house. She occupied the house by performing traditional religious procedure and was settled there. After a month, she was familiar to that area and local people were getting close to them. It was a coincidence that her house was near to the apartment where her deceased sister lived on rent. She was missing her sister and was in grief. Her sister had done lot of scarifies for her and always thought for her welfare. Nobody can bring their beloved ones back when they leave their heavenly body.

Time passed away, she became busy in her family affairs. But one night horrified her when she saw a dream. It altered her previous thinking and she was sensing the footstep of her sister. Though scary dreams have no value and it is interpreted as the reflection of thought processes or past experience, but this dream was supernatural and conveyed the message of soul. As it is well documented in paranormal literature that ghostly figure search some media to behave in appalling way or converse their anguish to near ones or any other target.

The horrific nature of dream is briefed below:

She was in the same house and lying on bed. Suddenly, she saw that her sister along with her husband, daughter, mother in-law, sister in law and driver were travelling in hilly areas with sharp turns. Car was driven so rashly that she scared in dream. When the car was moving upward to hilly path which was surrounded by green shrubs and fenced by dense hilly trees, swiftly, car door was opened in the deep valley side and my sister started falling into the valley. To protect herself, my sister tightly caught hold her mother in-law’s sari. But unfortunately, both fell down. My sister shouted with great pain while falling down in to deep valley and her head hit with huge rock. She died on the spot.  All other members were scattered in the plane side of hill and had normal scratches. Then, her sister’s image appeared she wanted to convey that dear sister, did you understand master plan of her murder. She was not accidently died but it was a planned murder.

She was shocked and shivering. But when she analysed all information and conversation happened in past with her sister’s in laws, she connected that they were shrewd planners to harm her sister. My sister had to lose her life without awakening people that she was under the web of criminals. But as she left this physical world, she really communicated her sorrow, and mastermind of offenders.

Dream was very clear and it revealed exactly what would have happened on that ill day. This dreadful dream and incident propelled to believe in ghostly image. Though, many cases of dreams are mentioned in psychological and paranormal studies and it was elucidated that person sees dream of their close ones.  It is normal as we remember them therefore it comes into our dream. But this strange dream narrated whole incidence of her sister’s death. This is an assessment of dream. 

To authenticate this incidence, she connected many strands such as how her sister died. She met with one her sister’s close friend. Her sister’s friend told that she approached to book only one ticket to go to her parent’s house. She had planned to go alone by leaving her dearest daughter. Such an important clue indicated that her soul conveyed through dream about callous happenings of her life.

If we see these type of incidents, it is proved that ghostly entities voyage around us and communicate with desired media in appropriate time.  

Many times, typical ghostly figure show their presence through vindictive activities that horrify humans such as moving objects, creating clamours, and mugging animals and people.

Another form of ghostly nature is demon activities. Their prime intent is to create bedlam and annihilation and cause stress to humans or even demise of people. Demons have Ghastly and evil image. But these are strange cases. Their hideous looks are extremely horrifying for innocent humans.

In our society innumerable cases of haunting or ghost‘s presence have been reported. Paranormal researchers are engrossed to find clues that how and why these ghostly activities happen and protective measures from horrendous nature of ghosts. Still the research is in its infancy stage. There is a substantial clash in science and these paranormal events.
